Life Moment - BATON ROUGE & NEW ORLEANS

Hi beauties,

I have been a bit absent over the past week so I thought I would let you know what I have been up to and share some happy snaps.

Over the past week I have been a busy little bumble bee. We have had my hubby's family over from Australia. It has been great having them here and we have enjoyed having family with us and showing them around our new home town, Baton Rouge.

Our family arrived in BR on Thursday evening and on the way back from the airport we took them on a tour of the city. Showing them around really made us feel like locals and made Baton Rouge feel a bit more like home for us. Once we dropped their bags off at our apartment we decided to take them out for some Baton Rouge Cajun seafood for dinner.

Friday saw us going to Downtown Baton Rouge to explore the banks of the Mississippi, home of the USS KIDD & Veterans Memorial museum. The USS KIDD is an old war ship which was really interesting to look around.

We took a trip to New Orleans on Saturday and had a really fantastic day! Firstly we stopped at the WWII Museum which was really well done and is a must see in New Orleans. After a delicious lunch at 'Hard Rock Cafe' we set out to explore the streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans! Wow! If any of you guys ever get the chance to check out New Orleans, don't pass it up! There is something to see on every street. The streets are filled with beautiful buildings, arts, antiques, boutiques, cute cafes and talented street performers. We walked until our feet were sore and left New Orleans with a lot of wonderful memories.

On Sunday headed out for an afternoon on the water for a SWAMP TOUR. This was lots of fun & we even got to see some alligators.

The other days this week have been filled with, checking out the LA state capitol, following squirrels in the park and a lot of shopping at the Mall of Louisiana as well as the Tanger Outlers. Our visitors got to experience a Louisiana storm. It was the wettest day we have had yet, and the main road out the front even flooded. We have a few more days with our family and hopefully by the time they leave they will have everything checked off their 'to see list'.

Love Lucee xx
