Hi beauties,

I have heard a lot of hype about the Glam Glow masks so I have been really keen to try it out. While I was at Mecca last week, one of the lovely girls there gave me a sample to try so I thought I would share my first impression review with you. If you haven't heard of GLAMGLOW it is a mask that has been raved about in the beauty world. Beauty magazines have labelled it the new "backstage secret"of Hollywood's elite entertainment industry and is suppose to be as good as going to get a professional facial.

This mask is said to be the key to getting glowing, brighter skin!

It is made to be used as a full face mask but It can also be used for spot treatments.

Sounds pretty fancy right?

The consultant at Mecca said that this mask is great to use before an event to help your makeup go on better & last longer. I had Marty's work Christmas party on Saturday night so this was a perfect opportunity to test it out.

I believe the Mecca's sample pots are 3g and I managed to use just over half of the pot for my whole face. I did use this pretty sparingly as I was hoping to try and get 2 uses out of it but I probably should have used more as it may have been a bit thin.

The upfront price is pretty scary but when I broke it down it wasn't actually so bad. The 50g tub is $70 at Mecca which is less than an facial at a spa and if you use 2.5g per use you will get 20 facials at $3.50 each which is pretty darn good. They also have a 15g tub for $22 which I would recommend trying first before spending $70.

I am pretty lucky in that I don't actually have bad skin. I don't get break outs and I can get away with wearing no makeup. My skin concern though is my large pores across my face so I was hoping that mask would give them a really good clean out in hope to minimise them a little bit.

I also do get dry bits around the base of my nose and my skin does often feel dull.

I applied this mask straight after cleansing my face in the shower. I used a real techniques brush to apply the mask to try and get a nice even coat and to assist in using it sparingly. It was really easy to apply with this brush although there were a couple of chunky bits, which are actually green tea leaves, that fell off.

As you will see in the picture, I did a pretty thin coat. I was actually worried that my coat was too thin but it ended up still working really well.

As you can tell by the title of this mask it is a tingling & exfoliating mask. I was a little bit nervous about the tingle as the girl at Mecca said that it can tingle a lot & you just have to bare it for the 10 minutes but I actually didn't find it bad at all. It did tingle when I first put it on but nothing like I expected.

I have a few photos through the stages of this mask from straight after it was applied until when it was completely dry right before I washed it off.

This mask is suppose draw out & extract your oils which makes it turn darker, so when I thought the mask had dried I didn't have any dark spots (second picture) and I was feeling pretty good about my skin. But I was also worried that I hadn't put enough of the mask on. Luckily I didn't wash it off yet because obviously it still wasn't finished working it's magic. As you will see in the 3rd and 4th pictures the darker spots came! It was weird, almost like it was peeling away but I think that was actually the oil pushing out - gross!

I do want to try this again and use more of the product to see the difference.

I didn't time how long I left this on. I believe you can wash off after 10 minutes but I just left it on while I dried & curled my hair and then washed it off afterwards.

This is an exfoliating mask so when you wash it off you should scrub it off with a flannel in circular motions to help with the exfoliation.

I liked that the mask came off nice and easy with the flannel and I didn't have to scrub my face raw.

My face was a bit red afterwards but it didn't take long to go down.

My skin was incredibly smooth after taking this mask off. Like better than baby bottom smooth! It's a bit hard to tell in the photos but I did also notice that my skin looked brighter.

I love that this mask is designed for preparing your skin for makeup. When you get a facial you are normally told not to wear makeup straight away which can be annoying if you are wanting a pamper before a special event.

I did notice that my makeup went on a lot better than usual. It really did glide on and it didn't cling to any dry spots (probably cause there weren't any dry spots after the mask) and applying my makeup felt a lot more effortless like I didn't have to spend as much time blending it out.

I was wanting to take a photo after I had applied makeup but ended up in a bit of a rush as we were getting picked up earlier than I realised. I did manage to get a selfie with my love at the Christmas Party though, so you can see my makeup in that picture below. I used all my normal makeup and I feel like it both went on and looked a lot better than normal. It might sound corny but I do honestly felt like I had {glam}glow.

I applied my makeup at 3:00pm and when I got home at 1:30am I was honestly so surprised to see that my foundation was actually still perfect! 10.5 hours is good in itself but I was also drinking wine & normally if I am drinking my makeup sweats off so much easier. So the fact that my foundation was perfect at the end of the night was actually kind of shocking to me.

A day later, my face still feels so smooth & fresh! Even after a big night and shamefully only washing my face quickly with a flannel and water. (update 3 days later - still incredibly smooth!)

Honestly, I did think this product was just an overpriced mask but now that I have tried it I am completely converted! It has a big price tag but I actually think it is worth it. Time to start saving my pennies.

I also have a sample of the Glam Glow Super Mud clearing treatment to try which I am excited about - keep an eye out for a first impression review on that as well as a comparison to the Youthmud.

Let me know your thoughts on this mask if you have tried it!

Hope you enjoyed this post.

All my love, Lucee xx
