FOTD | VALENTINES DAY LOOK

If you have been reading my blog lately you definitely know 2 things: Valentine's Day is coming and I'm excited about it.

With Valentine's Day generally comes a special date night either with your boo or some girlfriends. So after getting lots of compliments on the above makeup look I thought I would share with you everything I used to create it.

This isn't an everyday look for me. It is a full coverage, flawless base with subtle smoky eye, flirty false lashes and a kissable red lip!

PREPARATION:

First things first (I'm a realist - sorry, couldn't resist), you need to start by preparing your skin and getting rid of any dead skin cells that are sitting on top (sounds gross but we all have them!).

Exfoliate: This step is essential if you want a flawless base. Use any of the following:

Facial Buffer | Facial Scrub | Facial Brush | Clarisonic

Face mask: The next step is optional but highly recommended.

Specifically Glam Glow Mud Mask, this does wonders to your skin in preparing it for makeup. Check out my full review on it here for more info.
Cleanse, tone, moisturise: as per normal

Prime: a makeup primer is also essential for smoothing and preparing your face for makeup. It will also help your makeup to last longer. I used Laura Mercier Primer when creating this look.

THE MAKEUP

I know this is the part you've been waiting for but if you skipped straight to here, go back and read the preparation part. I cannot stress enough how important preparation is for flawless makeup! Now this list is a long but as I said earlier this isn't an everyday makeup look, it's a flawless, full coverage date night look!

HAIR
For my hair I loosely curled all over in thick sections using a 1-inch curling wand and then lightly brushed them out with a tangle teezer to get a more natural look.
This is a really versatile look and if you aren't confident enough to rock a bold lip, thanks to the neutral eyes,  it would still look stunning with a nude or even pink lip!

Wishing you a fantastic Valentines date. Be sure to tag me in your makeup looks on Instagram - @lifewithlucee.
