Last month I introduced you all to a brand called Nilly + Booth. If you haven't seen that post yet, stop what you are doing, and click on this link to go and read it.

Ok, so now that you have an idea about the brand and the products I have been trying I wanted to do an in depth review of my favourite Nilly + Booth product; the Organic Cleansing Balm*.

You would have read in my original post that I was both intrigued and a little nervous to try out this balm. This balm is an oil and I have oily skin so of course I was scared of adding more oil to my skin! However, I was fortunate enough to be able to chat to Sharn, the creator of Nilly + Booth, about my skin concerns and after having her assure me this is what I needed, I decided to give it a shot.

I wanted to use the cleansing balm for a long period of time before reviewing it but it didn't take me long to realise  Sharn knows her skincare! She was right on the money when she said the cleansing balm would help unclog my pores and the oil would balance my skin helping it to stop over producing oil.

If you read the description in my last post you will have read that this cleansing balm is best used for night time cleansing. I absolutely love using this to end my day with what feels like a mini facial!

The directions are to 'Massage a small amount into dry skin for 1-2 mins. Hold a hot washcloth over face to steam and open pores. After cloth cools rinse again with hot water and gently wipe away balm and makeup. Repeat as needed. Follow with organic face tonic and serum.' This process is honestly so relaxing.

Prior to using this product I would just cleanse my face pretty quickly, as usual, but just taking the extra couple of minutes to massage this oil in and steam with a hot wash cloth is actually really therapeutic. While my face is steaming and my pores are opening I find myself having time to shut down my mind and just unwind. The subtle natural scent helps to give that 'day spa facial' feeling, which I find to be so relaxing.

This pot is 60mls and while that might sound like a small amount it definitely goes a long way. You only need a pea sized amount each time you use it. Being an oil based balm the warmth of you skin will melt it making it massage into the skin effortlessly.

I love using this balm firstly to take my makeup off and then repeat to deep cleanse my skin. The Organic Cleansing Balm works a treat to remove makeup, especially eye makeup. It does make a mess of your eye makeup while you are massaging it around your face in but as soon as you wipe with a flannel you will be amazed at how well it removes your face of the day.

I love how supple my skin feels after using the cleansing balm. My skin, after use, is clean and soft with no dry or tight feeling. It feels well moisturised and while I do follow with a moisuriser, it almost feels like I don't need to.

If you have large pores or oily skin and are looking for something different to try and combat those concerns I definitely recommend the Nilly & Booth Grapefruit Bergamot Organic Cleansing Balm.

While using oil to combat oil may seem like a strange concept, it works! I may not fully understand how but, having tried it, I am converted and will continue to use it.

Thanks Sharn at Nilly + Booth for the opportunity to try some amazing products. As I am sure you can tell from my blog posts, I completely love your brand!!

Hope you liked this post.

All my love,
